It's National Curry week

Such is the popularity of curry, it has become the nation's favourite dish and to mark National Curry Week we have come up with 5 silly facts that you never knew about the Curry.

They are silly and they might be wrong!

  1. There are now more Indian restaurants, per capita, in Leeds than in Mumbai.
  2. Chicken Tikka Massala, is the UK’s favourite meal. But it is not Indian, it’s British. As are Mulligatawny soup and the famous Balti.
  3. Currys are incredibly healthy. Especially when eaten cold the morning after a night of student excess.
  4. Britain spends £3.5 billion on curry every year, If all of that money was spent on poppadums, it would create a stack of the crispy delights that would reach the moon and orbit it twice. A spicy lasso!
  5. Rice has traditionally been the accompaniment to curry, it is increasingly being replaced by chips.

Food for thought.
